Thanks Steve for this well thought out and helpful statement. Western Christianity has indeed sadly become well and truly "squeezed into the world's mold" (Rom 12 v1-2). We see it in attidudes to worship and church community as well as mission. Each of these - and many other areas - have become in so many ways "self-originated" and "all about me". This last year my wife and I have been working on where God is calling us to next. Your 5 main marks of call, and comments can apply to home mission as much as mission overseas. I hope you submit this more widely to the Christian community.

It was truly a blessing to have you with us filming the story of NZCMS staff here at Msalato. Greetings to you from the folk at Mindola Village where you filmed the new church we helped to build through our home church of St George's Gate Pa. They loved your dancing Joy! Can't wait to see the videos. Iri'nKate

Thanks for these comments. Im not a builder (Perhaps I am but not of brick and mortar) so I will not comment about the kind of buildings that would be appropriate. My concern is that we learn from our experiences to become more aware of, and engage in, God's mission to our broken world.

Thanks for broaching the subject.

I`m wondering if how we dealt with the earthquake (we couldn`t control) might give some glimpses as to how we relate to God (whom we also cannot control) ??
