Long term opportunities

NZCMS is passionate about preparing, sending and supporting mission-minded individuals, couples and families to serve the nations with a long term commitment.

Long term Mission Partners serve cross culturally for upwards of one year. Current Mission Partners are involved in a wide range of fields including theological education, evangelism, community development, healthcare, teaching, translation, business and church ministries. If you want to investigate becoming a partner we’d love to talk with you. We recognise each person is an individual, and want to journey with you. The time frame will be different for each situation, but below is a general outline of the process.

Application Process

At the initial enquiry stage we start with conversation – about you, your story, where you have a heart to go and what you might be able to offer. We ask that you fill out an Initial Enquiry form and send this to us with a copy of your CV. None of this commits you to us, or us to you; it’s a chance for us all to get to know each other better and prayerfully consider needs and opportunities. Later in the process applicants will be asked to fill out more comprehensive paperwork, nominate referees, and undergo a police check, medical and psychological assessments. At this stage, if the applicant is seen as a potential Mission Partner, then they will be invited to an interview with the Personnel Committee (a subcommittee of the NZCMS Council). Based on the recommendation of this committee the NZCMS Council makes the final decision of accepting a new Mission Partner with the society.
