We thought it was fitting to show this picture after the last one!
In our first year of being here, we have had our fair share of health care experiences! It was a cultural challenge in itself trying to explain various symptoms in our basic spanish vocabulary, which certainly did not extend to medical terms! We visited and investigated the various options as problems presented themselves, that were mainly due to our stomachs adjusting to the exposure of new bacteria! We must add that the cultural differences of the Nicaraguan medical system are not just limited to language...
But, we assure you that we are both doing well at this moment - ¡Gracias a Dios! - a Nicaraguan expression of thanks to God, that usually is tagged on after people's reply to your question "How are you?". It is nice how often Nicaraguans attribute situations of fortune and especially good health to God and are thankful for the things that they do have!
You may have noticed how often we have asked you to continue to pray in the prayer fuel for our health. We don't mean to be so repetitive, it's just that we would rather avoid all of these places!
