Programme
Online registration will open up next week (20 April). Please note that our formal programme begins mid-morning Thursday 4 October and ends 11pm (ish) Saturday 6 October. Overnight accommodation (Sat night) and Sunday (7 Oct) breakfast are included in the conference cost.
Workshops
We will feature a range of workshops covering our theme of ‘Here, There and Beyond’. This will mean looking at Mission ‘here’ in NZ, Mission over ‘there’ (anywhere you need a passport to get to) and what it means to go ‘beyond’; how to take the next step in getting involved with mission. A more specific programme will be released a bit later on, but here are some themes to whet your appetite:
- What does the Bible really say about mission?
- How does the story of the gospel’s arrival and growth in NZ energise mission?
- How do we communicate mission stories effectively?
- Training for cross-cultural ministry: What training opportunities are available and how much training is needed anyway?
- Too old for mission? Yeah right!
- Reaching the ‘least’ in NZ
- The Big OE
NZCMS Mission Partners
A number of Mission Partners will be attending the conference and will have the opportunity to share about the different ministries, projects and people they’re involved with overseas. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from Rosie (Egypt), Iri and Kate Mato (Tanzania/Ethiopia), Joanna Frampton (Papua New Guinea), Murray and Fey Cotter (Albania) and several partners who are working in restricted areas in the Arab world.
Children
Are welcome! NZCMS is very staunchly, very proudly a family organisation. There’ll be a mission-focused programme available for kids (aged 5-13) during the conference. Creche facilities (for kids aged 0-5) will also be provided.
