General Giving Donations Now Qualify for Tax Receipts

NZCMS can now issue donation receipts to people who give towards General Giving (ie donations to NZCMS as an organisation). The reason NZCMS can now issue donation receipts for General Giving is because of approval received from IRD (Inland Revenue Department). Any donations given for NZ work (money spent within NZ) from 1 April 2025 are now eligible for a donation receipt, including General Giving, Māori Evangelists, and the Wheels Ministry.

General giving is incredibly helpful to NZCMS as an organisation. These donations support NZCMS to keep doing our core mission — sending out global Mission Partners and Māori Evangelists, connecting the NZ Church to global mission, equipping NZ churches for cross-cultural mission, and discipling young people for mission.

We have a new giving page on the NZCMS website to reflect this change. This clearly shows which donations are eligible for donation receipts and which are not. You will notice that giving to our global Mission Partners is not eligible for a donation receipt because their ministry is overseas and Gospel-focused.

Thank you if you already donate to General Giving through NZCMS. If you would like to start donating to General Giving, this would be a great help to us.

Thank you, Tessa. I remember Ray (and Jean) very warmly from our time at St Tim’s before we left for St John’s College at the beginning of 1987, and was excited many years later to learn of their visit to the Elliotts in Uganda. (We visited them in 1997 on study leave.) That visit, and a later one, showed their quiet growth in faith and mission during the years. I praise God for Ray’s life and service, and pray for the Comforter’s presence to be so close to Jean.

Thank you Archdeacon Fran. Mothers Union appreciated your input when we visited the Far North recently. Your wisdom and wise counsel made it a memorable weekend. God bless you in your new role.
